Why does my WiFi drop in some rooms?
Short answer: often it isn't the WiFi. If the internet coming into the house is slow, extenders and mesh units only spread that slow signal around. I test the incoming connection first, then fix whichever part is actually the problem.
What I did at a home in Lake County in September 2026
The house had extenders in several rooms and still had weak spots. The incoming connection was the real limit, so we moved to a faster plan, put the new router in the middle of the house and in the open, and kept the same WiFi name and password so the TVs, doorbell and cameras reconnected on their own. Then I walked every weak room again to check it.
What it costs
Home WiFi or mesh install: $299, up to three units placed, set up and labelled. $75 for each extra unit.
Standard visit: $149, if it turns out to be one device or a setting.
You get the price before any work starts. If you need hardware, you buy it yourself and I don't mark it up.
Where I work
In person across Lake County, including Waukegan, Gurnee, North Chicago, Libertyville and Lake Forest.
Text me what's happening and which rooms drop out.
